Restructuring Robus Group leadership – entering the next phase of growth

Over the last two years Robus Group has seen some significant growth, taken on talented new staff and game-changing clients.

The acquisition of Robus by the Ardonagh Group in December 2020 has created some significant opportunities for the Insurance Manager, which continues to operate independently but which now has access to a wide network of insurance distribution expertise. Preparing for the next phase of growth, we are pleased to announce some important changes to the Robus leadership team.

Steve Quinn has been appointed Group Executive Chairman following the departure of Richard Le Tocq, who was CEO of Robus Group from 2017 until the end of 2021. Steve joined Robus as Chairman in 2020 bringing with him significant industry experience together with the commercialism of running his own business. He has held numerous senior positions over many years.

Reflecting on Richard’s contribution, Steve said “We are incredibly grateful for Richard’s efforts in the last few years at Robus. Under his leadership Robus has diversified its product offering, made hires to key positions, rebranded and, of course, become part of the thriving Ardonagh Group. He leaves Robus stronger than he found it.”

Steve added, “Looking forward, I have been working with Richard and our Ardonagh colleagues to build a plan which harnesses our collective strengths to launch and execute a successful growth strategy which builds upon the recent successes of Robus Group. The first step has been implementing a more robust Group leadership team to oversee our operations.”

Paul Cole, Director, Gibraltar, will move to be Robus COO (Chief Operations Officer) responsible for simplifying Robus’ operational foundations and maximising use of services to help deliver an enhanced client experience.

Ronan Ryan will take the position of CCO (Chief Commercial Officer). Ronan has led some of Robus’ wider development projects across the Group. He will now leverage the Group's product expertise using his experience of working across the industry to develop our Insurance Management proposition across all domiciles.

In conjunction with these moves John Harris will become Group Business Development Director. Working as a consultant for Robus over the last few years, John brings with him numerous long-standing relationships through his extensive insurance industry network.  John will be responsible for ensuring discipline in the management of our growth pipeline and will add plenty of value to Robus’ already strong leadership team.

An update on domicile specific changes will be provided in the coming weeks. If you are interested in what you have read and would like to contact anyone in the Robus team, you can find all details on the ‘Our Team’ page.
